Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in West Virginia
- Minimum of 2 years of bedside clinical nursing experience
- Long-term acute care, critical care, rehabilitation, or comparable complex-care experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the first shift
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required before the first shift for applicable assignments
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Complete comprehensive nursing assessments within the required timeframe and develop individualized plans of care
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Monitor patient condition, recognize changes in status, and communicate pertinent information promptly to providers and nursing leadership
- Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and contribute timely, accurate patient updates
- Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and progress clearly and accurately in the medical record
- Initiate discharge planning and provide patient and family education in preparation for transition of care
- Delegate appropriately and provide direction, training, and supervision to LPNs, CNAs, and orienting staff
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, safe handling practices, and a secure care environment
- Prioritize care, organize daily activities, and use time and resources effectively
- Support a positive, respectful, team-oriented environment for patients, families, and coworkers
- Assume charge responsibilities after completing orientation, as requested
- Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-directed learning
