Registered Nurse RN MedSurg​/Infectious Disease - Parkersburg, WV

Take your Med Surg expertise to a specialized infectious disease unit caring for a diverse range of acute patients. This 13-week travel assignment offers 12-hour day shifts, a supportive team environment, and the opportunity to work with complex isolation and infectious disease cases.

• Patient Ratio: 1:5–6; approximately 1:4 for COVID patients
• Unit Size: 18 beds, all private rooms
• Patient Population:
  Infectious disease, isolation, COVID, MRSA,
  
  C. difficile, and other acute Med Surg patients
• Floating:
  Required; travelers are first to float to other Med Surg units
• Call:
  No scheduled call, but travelers may be subject to low-census cancellation
• Block Scheduling:
  Considered based on unit needs
• Charting:
  Epic
• Scrub Color:
  Royal Blue

• Active WV or Compact RN License
• Travel nursing experience required
• Strong Med Surg experience required
• Epic experience required
• BLS certification through AHA required
• Strong knowledge of infectious disease and isolation precautions
• Experience caring for COVID, MRSA,
  
  C. difficile, and other infectious disease patients preferred
• Experience with Med Surg IV medications, antibiotics, heparin, and related therapies
• Ability to care for patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow oxygen with respiratory therapy support
• Must be willing to float to other Med Surg units as needed
