American Traveler is hiring an experienced Intermediate Care RN for a night shift telemetry position requiring 2 years of experience and ventilator management skills.

• 16-bed Intermediate Care unit with a wide variety of chronic and acute diagnoses including cardiac, pulmonary, renal, GI, and sepsis cases, mostly medical with some surgical
• 3:1 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 schedule, 7p-7a
• Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
• Floating required
• 36 or 48-hour contract options available
• Blocked schedule requests accommodated when possible
• Uses Cerner charting system

• Active WV or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certification required through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry experience required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Ventilator management experience required
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
• Covid vaccine required, with medical/religious exemptions considered case-by-case
• Flu vaccine required unless medical proof of exemption is provided

• Provide intermediate care nursing to a diverse patient population with cardiac monitoring and emergency response as needed
• Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
• Orientation held every other Thursday
• Scrub color requirement:
  Royal Blue/White for RNs
• Free parking for travelers
• Limit holiday RTO requests to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of Vandalia Health System facilities are not eligible for travel contracts within the health system
• First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience for consideration
