American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of RN experience and 1 year of in-specialty cardiac/telemetry experience.

• 39-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit treating cardiac patients with acute MI, unstable angina, CHF, unstable arrhythmias, and other cardiac disorders
• Also cares for CVA surgical patients in a high-turnaround observation unit with stays typically 36 hours or less, roughly half inpatient and half observation
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Standard ratio of 1:5, which may increase to 6-7:1 during call-ins or staff shortages (including oversight of 1-2 LPN patients)
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 (7pm-7am), weekdays with every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope as needed
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Requires proficiency with drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, and nitro

• Active WV or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted for consideration)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience and 1 year of in-specialty cardiac/telemetry experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Post Cardiac Cath, Post Angiogram, and PTCA experience required
• Experience with cardioversion, TEE, thoracentesis, bone marrow biopsy, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and paracentesis preferred but not required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Procedural sedation administration/monitoring and continuous IV sedation experience preferred
• Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required

• Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
• Orientation held every other Thursday
• Limit holiday RTO requests to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays
• Royal blue/white scrubs required for RNs
• Free parking provided for travelers
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1-March 31) unless documented medical exemption; COVID vaccine not required
• First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met
• Former CAMC permanent employees must wait 2 years from last day worked before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the Vandalia Health System (including CAMC, Mon Health, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for this travel contract
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility, with those between 75-99 miles considered on a case-by-case basis
