Senior Accountant

Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Charlotte, NC

Reports To: Controller

Industry: Industrial Manufacturer

Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented & proactive senior accountant to support our clients core accounting functions, along with focus on cost analysis and inventory accounting. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost production analysis, and maintaining compliance across a $750M+ industrial manufacturer. .

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Analyze and report on manufacturing and inventory variances, including standard cost updates and margin analysis
• Partner with operations and supply chain teams to monitor inventory levels, valuation, and obsolescence
• Support physical inventory counts and cycle count processes; reconcile discrepancies
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting related to COGS, inventory, and production costs
• Maintain compliance with internal controls and support audit requests
• Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements related to cost and inventory accounting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
• Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and inventory valuation methods
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
