Site Accountant Charlotte, NC | Finance | Junior Level

HSP drives the energy transition. HSP US in Charlotte will be the first

U.S.

-based manufacturing plant of Trench Group. Starting operations inearly 2026 the plant will manufacture dry-type bushings (RIS/RIP) withvoltages up to 800 kV for the North American market. It will featurefull vertical integration and will house one of the most modern andhigh-performance high-voltage test laboratories in the region. Trench Group will invest more than $60 million in establishing a facility thatwill manufacture cutting-edge technology to support the expansion of theU.S. power grid infrastructure.

Your Mission

The accountantwill play a foundational role in establishing the financial operations of HSP’snew U.S. manufacturing facility in Charlotte, NC. This hands-on position is responsible for daily accounting activities, month-end closing, cost and inventory accounting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate bringsstrong SAP S4/HANA experience (critical), cost accounting knowledge inamanufacturing environment, and a disciplined approach to internal controls.

What Are WeLooking For!
  • Manage daily A/P, A/R and general ledger entries.
  • Own month-end close activities and meet closing deadlines.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules.
  • Support standard costing setup and cost roll-ups.
  • Perform inventory accounting, including valuation, reserves, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset accounting, including CIP tracking, depreciation, and disposals.
  • Execute intercompany reconciliations with entities in Germany and Canada.
  • Manage intercompany transactions, loan accounting, and cross-charging.
  • Support SAP S4/HANA implementation and configuration (FI/CO, MM, Production).
  • Ensure accuracy and control of financial master data.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and IFRS where applicable.
  • Coordinate with tax consultants and corporate tax teams.
  • Support documentation requests for internal and external audits.
  • Partner with Order Management to ensure accurate billing and revenue recognition.
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Optimize processes related to A/P, A/R, and cost center structures.
  • Assist Plant Controller with financial reports and operational KPIs
  • Create visibility tools in Excel or Power BI for performance tracking.
What You Will Bring!
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • SAP S4/HANA experience is required – especially FI/CO, MM, and inventory.
  • Strong foundation in U.S. GAAP; IFRS exposure a plus.
  • Experience owning monthly close processes.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting and inventory valuation.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and explain variances.
  • High attention to detail with a strong internal control mindset.
  • Comfortable working with international teams and time zones.
