Based in Charlotte, NC, Safe Fleet, a Smart Safety Company that creates life‑saving safety products for fleet vehicles, is hiring a Staff Accountant to join our manufacturing finance team.

The Staff Accountant will support core accounting functions—general ledger, cost accounting, fixed assets, and inventory—and drive accurate reporting and process improvement. This is a high‑visibility position for an experienced professional who enjoys a hands‑on environment and cross‑functional collaboration.

• Prepare and post journal entries; reconcile general ledger accounts for month‑end and year‑end close.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and internal reporting packages for senior leadership.
• Maintain and track fixed‑asset records, including depreciation schedules.
• Support standard‑cost updates, inventory reconciliations, and cost‑of‑goods‑sold analysis.
• Conduct variance analysis and margin reporting to drive profitability insights.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policies.
• Participate in annual budgeting, forecasting, and external/internal audits.
• Manage AP invoice processing and employee expense reports.
• Partner with operations and supply‑chain teams to improve cost and inventory processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements and support automation initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory management.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, or similar).
• Experience with fixed assets and standard‑costing systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent time‑management and adaptability in a fast‑paced setting.
