TITLE:

Senior Tax Accountant

REPORTS TO:

Tax Director and Manager

MAIN FUNCTION:
The Senior Tax Accountant is primarily responsible for the preparation and/or review of federal and state compliance work
** SAMPLE

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*** Review and/or prepare federal and state
** income tax
** returns for partnerships, S corporations, C-corporations, trusts and individuals.
* Review and/or prepare LIFO calculations for all dealerships.
* Review fixed asset schedules for depreciation for all dealerships.
* Review various year end tax calculations such as computation of demo wages.
* Respond to state and federal tax notices on behalf of our dealerships.
* Assist in gathering information for tax audits.
* Assist office managers with any tax questions they may have.
* Research federal, state and local tax issues
* Responsible for the mentoring of staff

* MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

*** 4-Year accounting degree
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to be a “Team Player”
* Ability to handle pressure.
* Handle directions with minimal supervision
* 5-10 years experience in the preparation/review of tax returns
* Working knowledge of applicable tax law and regulations
* Proficient computer skills and understanding of spreadsheet applications.
* Experience in Prosystem Tax and Prosystem Engagement is a plus.
