Senior Staff Accountant
Red Cedar Capital Partners, LLC (Charlotte, NC)

Pay Range

Base pay: $75,000 – $85,000 per year (actual salary depends on experience and qualifications).

Role Description

Red Cedar Homes seeks a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to support all facets of our vertically integrated real‑estate development business. The role involves real‑estate transaction accounting, debt management, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, daily transaction postings, and more. This position requires strong teamwork, a “team player” mentality, and the ability to work with a close‑knit team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review KPI’s and financial reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Assist in month‑end close processes.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure that appropriate controls and compliance processes are in place and are followed.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Prepare journal entries, including HUD entries, for all types of real‑estate transactions.
  • Prepare various schedules as required by management.
  • Prepare planned and ad‑hoc reports.
  • Play a lead role in debt‑management tracking and maintenance.
  • Assist in planning and implementing special projects for 2024 and beyond.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn and think “out of the box.”
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Four‑year degree in accounting (experience may substitute).
  • 2‑3 years of accounting experience (within homebuilding, construction, or manufacturing industries preferred).
Education & Experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience recording accounting entries (accruals, prepaids) and creating journal entries.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills required; high proficiency in Excel is a must.
  • Strong analytical skills.
Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per year

Schedule: Monday‑Friday, standard daytime hours; 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Occasional weekend work may be required.
