Staff Accountant – Accounts Receivable

The Staff Accountant is an integral part of the Finance Department with a concentration in accounts receivable. This role plays a vital part in maintaining financial accuracy, processing customer payments, managing accounts receivable, and supporting month‑end and year‑end close activities. The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller and works closely with the Billing and Client Service teams across the organization.

Key Accountabilities

• Process customer payments and monitor customer account balances
• Perform timely follow‑up on outstanding invoices and resolve customer disputes or payment delays
• Collaborate with Billing and Client Service teams to ensure accurate customer account management
• Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations
• Maintain and reconcile construction‑related accounts
• Record journal entries in accordance with established accounting principles
• Assist with month‑end and annual close processes
• Support ad‑hoc projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to adapt to multiple systems and a dynamic work environment

This position requires the ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Essential functions include prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, using standard office equipment, and communicating effectively with internal teams and external customers.
