Responsibilities:
- Maintain and review the general ledger system to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit card entries across multiple entities.
- Prepare and record journal entries during month-end and year-end closings.
- Monitor and reconcile intercompany accounts, ensuring proper tracking of "Due to/Due from" balances.
- Support annual financial audits by compiling and providing necessary documentation to external auditors.
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of Form 990s and other required governmental filings.
- Handle business insurance matters, including renewals and audits, in coordination with the Controller.
- Assist in developing annual budgets and preparing board presentations for multiple entities.
- Track and report monthly budget performance, providing insights to non-financial team members.
- Collaborate with the Controller on payroll and human resource-related tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of detail-oriented accounting experience; non-profit experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Quick Books and general ledger accounting processes.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Office 365 (Excel, Word, Teams) and Adobe products.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial management, including profit and loss statements and budgeting.
- Ability to develop and implement best practices, tools, and resources for accounting operations.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects in a cross-functional environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on building collaborative relationships.
