Accounting Manager; Revenue

Carolina PRG has partnered with a $1B+ Corporate HQ in South Charlotte to help them identify a process‑improvement minded individual for a dynamic accounting leadership position. The Accounting Manager (Revenue) is responsible for overseeing revenue accounting as well as general accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This role plays a key part in month‑end close, revenue recognition, internal controls, and team leadership, while partnering cross‑functionally to support the company’s financial integrity, scalability, strategy, and growth.

• Own revenue recognition processes in compliance with ASC 606, including contract review and accounting treatment.
• Ensure accurate accounting for billing, deferred revenue, accrued revenue, and revenue‑related estimates.
• Develop, maintain, and document revenue accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Partner with Sales, Operations, and FP&A to ensure alignment between commercial activity and financial reporting.
• Analyze revenue trends and variances and provide insights to management.

• Manage and execute month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions (if applicable).
• Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

• Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting.
• Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses.
• Assist with SOX compliance efforts, where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

• Serve as a key accounting subject‑matter expert for ERP and billing systems.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Support system implementations, upgrades, and automation initiatives.

• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
• Foster strong collaboration within Accounting and across cross‑functional teams.
• Help set priorities, manage workloads, and support a high‑performing accounting team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue accounting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.
• Experience managing month‑end close processes.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, or similar).

• CPA or CPA‑eligible.
• Prior people leadership experience.
• Experience supporting audits and SOX compliance.
• Background in a high‑growth or complex accounting environment.
