CMT 1, Inc. is a Charlotte-based general contracting and construction management company serving industrial and commercial projects across the U.S.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to support daily accounting and project financial activities. Prior accounting experience is preferred, but recent graduates and entry-level candidates are welcome to apply
.

• Process vendor invoices, employee expenses, and subcontractor payments.
• Track project costs, expenses, and job-related financial records.
• Assist with customer invoicing, progress billing, and payment tracking.
• Maintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
• Review invoices, receipts, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Enter and maintain accounting information in Quick Books, Contractor Foreman, and Excel.
• Assist the Finance Manager with month-end preparation, basic reports, and accounting documentation.
• Work with project managers, field teams, and vendors to resolve billing or documentation issues.
• Support tax, 1099, audit, and other accounting-related tasks as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, debits and credits, and financial statements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn construction and project accounting.

• Previous accounting, bookkeeping, AP/AR, or internship experience.
• Experience with Quick Books, Contractor Foreman, or similar systems.
• Construction or project accounting experience is a plus.
• English and Mandarin Chinese bilingual proficiency is preferred.

Prior accounting experience is preferred but not required. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

• $55,000–$82,000 annually
  , depending on experience and qualifications.
• Training and guidance from the Finance Manager.
• Opportunity to grow into greater accounting responsibilities as experience develops.
