Summary: Responsible for identifying necessary vehicle service and performing the repair, service, and/or maintenance work.

Responsibilities
  • Examines customer vehicles.
  • Identifies necessary vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Estimates cost of repairs.
  • Performs vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Documents services performed.
  • Performs services efficiently and according to dealership guidelines.
  • Follows dealership and manufacturer service guidelines.
  • Requests necessary parts.
  • Effectively utilizes available technologies to enhance customer experience.
  • Maintains CSI at or above Company standards.
  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.
  • Participates in required training.
  • Records all hours worked accurately in the company timekeeping system.
  • Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrates the Company’s Core Values.
  • Complies with Company policies and procedures.
  • Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
  • High School Diploma (required)
  • GED (not required)
  • Associate Degree (not required)
  • Bachelor Degree (not required)
  • Master Degree (not required)
  • Doctorate Degree (not required)
  • Automotive field of study (preferred)
  • Accounting, Business, Human Resources, Information Technology (not required except where specified)
  • 5+ years of work experience (preferred; 5+ years indicated as current requirement)
Experience and Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
  • Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge.
  • Technical training or commensurate technical experience required.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Certified/senior technician with respective manufacturer (preferred).
  • State inspection/emissions license required by State.
  • All required manufacturer fundamental training and/or NAPA training provided by HAG.
  • Meets and/or exceeds manufacturer requirements for ASE tests.
  • Completed manufacturer training to perform warranty repairs/recalls, PDI’s, maintenance, and minor repairs.
Computers, Communication, and Attendance
  • Basic computer skills to utilize timekeeping system and to learn parts department computer inventory and ordering system.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions; communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
  • Regular and predictable attendance; shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical and Environmental Demands
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands, reach, and perform varied physical positions.
  • Work is primarily in the service area; may be exposed to loud noise, fumes, and other service conditions; involves movement around vehicles and use of power tools and test equipment.
  • Frequently interacts with customers, service advisors and the service manager.
Other Abilities
  • Verbal and Written Ability: read and comprehend instructions and present information effectively.
  • Math and Reasoning: basic arithmetic; apply common sense to carry out instructions and follow technical manuals.
