Business Development Manager – Lending Tree
Location:
Charlotte, NC (hybrid/remote). Hybrid requires in‑person attendance at least 3 days a week (ideally Tuesday‑Thursday) in our Charlotte office. Remote candidates are also accepted.
We are seeking a high‑performing hunter to expand our strategic partnerships with lenders, marketplaces, media companies, and aggregators. This role is a true hunter position – driving outbound prospecting, identifying new revenue opportunities, and using a data‑driven approach to win new partnerships.
Primary Responsibilities- Reports to the Director of Marketing Partnerships
- Hunt and prospect to find relevant lead‑providing companies/partners
- Identify and establish relationships with decision makers within a defined target list
- Develop, direct, and negotiate customer sales agreements
- Conduct business meetings with lenders’ leadership to pursue new profitable referral opportunities, product developments, and increase market share
- Provide implementation support and training to partners regarding Lending Tree’s policy, procedures, products, programs, and technology
- Consult with partners to improve their success and maximize their revenue per referral
- Utilize Salesforce to track account pipeline statuses, lead volume projections, contract, and compliance requests
- Collaborate professionally with internal departments as needed (Legal, Compliance, IT, Product, Marketing, Accounting, Sales, Service)
- Compile performance reports and billing reports on a weekly, bi‑monthly, and/or monthly basis for our partners
- Conduct regular account reviews with partners to optimize performance
- Basic understanding of internet‑based technologies and systems
- Experience contracting and with business development workflows
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite or other database‑management tools
- Impeccable verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- High attention to detail regarding documentation and processes
- A desire to lead by example
- A self‑starter who solves problems and looks for opportunities to contribute more
- A desire to work within a team that supports both internal and external clients, leveraging the strengths of all team members toward a common goal
- Must be a team player and adaptable to rapidly changing environments
- Experience with lead generation is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours that may include evenings and weekends, as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing preferred or equivalent experience
- Ability to travel (10%‑25%)

Incentive compensation:
Annual bonus opportunity.
Base pay: $110,000‑$140,000 (varies by location; Seattle, New York, Colorado, California). Base pay offered may vary depending on internal factors, job‑related knowledge, and experience.
