Job Summary

The primary duty of this position is management of medium to large, assigned distribution partners. Duties include establishing and executing business plans, gaining a complete understanding of customer purchasing, identifying opportunities to increase value‑add services, and facilitating quarterly strategic planning meetings with distributors.

Responsibilities
  • Extract new value from distributor relationships through contract optimization, joint business planning and partnership activities at the direction of the Senior Manager.
  • Owns first level escalations of Buy Smart cases. Supports Compass facing Foodbuy Account Managers.
  • Seeks to improve Supply Chain efficiencies through route to market strategies.
  • Work with team in monitoring distributor 12‑month business plans as well as the quarterly business reviews.
  • Evaluate on‑going service level requirements, maintain distributor scorecards.
  • Act as key liaison for customer/sector service level issues and improvements.
  • Manage monthly forecast activities work with supervisor to ensure accurate and timely forecast activities and reporting.
  • Responsible for system data integrity and category data needs.
  • Liaison with Business Implementation and Account Management teams to support distribution business needs.
  • Builds and maintains strong, professional relationships with distributor partners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3-5 years’ work experience in supply chain, distribution, or Foodbuy/Compass.
  • ISM Food service Certification a plus.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project Management skills / experience.
  • Strong analytical skills using large data sets.
  • Negotiations experience a plus.
  • Basic presentation skills required.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Power Point.
  • Very limited travel annually.
