Position: PartTime Family Assistant in Beverly Woods for a 3 7 and 8YearOld

Job Overview

Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family of 4 in Beverly Woods East in finding a Part-Time Family Assistant for their family, which includes a Mom and three children (ages 3, 7, and 8 years old) and their home. The Family Assistant would typically be needed Monday 1:30 - 7:00 pm, Tuesday 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Wednesday 1:30 pm - 7:00 pm, Thursday 1:30- 5:30 pm, (guaranteed minimum of 23 hours per week).

A candidate with a flexible schedule who is able to work additional morning, night, and weekend hours as needed (2-3 times per month) is preferred.

The best Family Assistant for this family would have a high level of professionalism, be reliable, organized, and enjoy caring for children as well as keeping a home running smoothly. This role involves managing the day-to-day upkeep of a large home and supporting a household. Responsibilities include routine tidying such as vacuuming, loading and unloading the dishwasher as needed, putting items away properly, grocery shopping, light meal prep, and general household organization.

The family has three wonderful, well-behaved, kind children who thrive with a Family Assistant who truly understands child development and communicates with kids at their level.

Each day, the Family Assistant would arrive at 1:30 pm, and until the children got out of school at 4:00 pm, they would assist with Household Management tasks that needed to be taken care of. These tasks would include, but not be limited to, doing family laundry, meal prep, grocery shopping, running errands and personal shopping, tidying up, organizing, decluttering/putting away toys, sorting out toys and clothes that need to be rotated, assisting with selling or donating items the children have grown out of, and keeping the home running smoothly.

This position also involves establishing and restoring organizational systems within the home, sorting through children’s items they’ve outgrown, and assisting Mom with selling or donating those items. Mom is organized, collaborative, and happy to help delegate tasks.

At 4:00 pm, the children will need to be picked up from school and brought home. In the afternoon, the mom will divide and conquer transportation to activities with the Family Assistant, when available. Some activities happen at the same time, so mom will need to assist to get one of the children to an activity. Then the Family Assistant would be responsible for engaging the children in age-appropriate activities, ensuring their homework is done as needed, and they are prepared for the next day (get book bags ready, pick out outfits, ensure homework is done, forms are signed, etc.),

and dinner is prepared and served to the children. After dinner, the children would need to start their bedtime routines on days that the Family Assistant is at the home until 7:00 pm.

The Mom’s parenting style is firm but respectful, clear expectations paired with empathy and guidance. A candidate who relies on raising their voice, rigid authority, or punishment-driven compliance will not be a good fit. Instead, the family is seeking someone experienced with child-centered, supportive approaches who can help children transition between tasks (such as unpacking backpacks after school) in a calm, encouraging way.

The mom of the family works from home and will be home daily, so professional boundaries should be respected throughout the day.
