Blythe Development, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, is a licensed general contractor specializing in site work, road construction and golf course construction in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. We are now 100% Employee Owned. Founded by twin brothers Jack and Frank Blythe in 1989, our operations include clearing, grading, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, waterline, curb and gutter, sidewalk, concrete paving, retaining walls, culverts, bridges, stone base and asphalt paving.

With over 900 employees, we self‑perform 80% of site groundwork, giving us greater control than competitors who subcontract the bulk of the job.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting and control, and providing technical direction while ensuring compliance with quality standards. The role spans a broad spectrum of project management areas, including:

  • Project Planning and Scheduling (Microsoft Project experience a plus)
  • Project Cost Control (Vista or similar software knowledge a plus)
  • Time Management
  • Project Specification and Quality Control
  • Contract Administration
  • Safety Management

Requirements
  • Experience in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Teams/Tremble Construction One and Vista
  • 4‑year degree, ideally Engineering or Construction related
  • Ability to become a valuable team member for construction projects of $2M–$25M site grading projects that include all aspects from clearing to pavement markings
  • Able to reliably travel regionally
