Job Overview

Multi-generational construction company is looking to add an experienced estimator to their team. The role will be working in the custom building area of the business and is an excellent opportunity to work for a respected, long-standing North Carolina name brand.

To $125K.

• Study various construction materials and products (all products involved in custom built houses) and the processes used to install them.
• Perform audits and inspections of buildings in progress and estimate the cost of completing unfinished portions of the work.
• Monitor labor costs for each job site and project the effect on profitability.
• Review historical data on the supply chain to determine the number and type of suppliers needed on future projects.
• Calculate bids by adding up costs such as materials and labor estimates, overhead expenses and appropriate markups.
• Present final bid estimates to clients based on proposals and detailed cost breakdowns.
• Negotiate contracts and other contract terms with clients.
• Help educate clients on factors that affect pricing.

• 3+ years of estimating experience
• Excellent follow up and communication skills for internal and external customers
• Ability to be in office as well as travel to job sites when needed
• Degree preferred in construction management
