Fence Estimator

Talent Authority Partners (TAP) is conducting a confidential search for an established specialty civil construction contractor serving commercial, industrial, and public-sector projects across the Southeast. We are working directly with the CEO and hiring team to hire a Fence Estimator who will help turn customer demand into profitable projects.

The company is investing in its estimating team, systems, and leadership to support continued growth. This full-time position gives you ownership of fencing bids, access to experienced field teams, and opportunities to expand your expertise into other infrastructure specialties.

Your Team

You will work alongside other estimators and partner with project managers, field crews, suppliers, and customers. The role is structured to report to the VP of Estimating, a leadership position the company is also hiring. You will lead the fencing portion of larger bids and use feedback from the field to strengthen your estimates.

Your Role

You will own fencing estimates from the initial request through the finished proposal. Your experience will shape the scope, pricing, and installation assumptions behind bids for commercial, industrial, and civil infrastructure projects.

You will see how your estimates perform once projects are built and use those results to sharpen future bids. As part of the estimating team, you will also have opportunities to cross-train in other construction specialties.

The role is primarily office-based in the southeast Charlotte, North Carolina area, with periodic site visits and pre-bid meetings. Some work-from-home flexibility is available when the work and team coverage allow. Relocation timing can be discussed.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to establish complete fencing scopes.
• Clarify missing information with customers before pricing the work.
• Perform material and labor takeoffs for fencing systems, gates, access control, and related installation work.
• Obtain supplier and subcontractor quotes, including pricing for specialized products.
• Prepare complete proposals that account for materials, labor, equipment, freight, overhead, and margin.
• Work with project managers and field crews to validate installation methods, site conditions, and production rates.
• Track bid results and actual project costs to improve future estimates.
• Support scope changes, alternative solutions, and change-order pricing during construction.
• 3+ years of fencing estimating experience, including commercial, industrial, or civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing multiple bids concurrently, from scope review and takeoffs through pricing and proposal preparation.
• Experience using estimating or takeoff software and Microsoft Excel.

This is a full-time, direct-hire position with our client, offering a base salary plus a performance-based bonus. If hired, you would be employed and paid directly by the client—not Talent Authority Partners.
