Learn more at .Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Events and Conferencing as well as the Chair of the Music Department, the Production/Facilities Director will be responsible for training and managing a large student workforce.

The position involves supervising and coordinating various technical and production aspects of musical performances in diverse facilities, including student-facing events, university ceremonies, and rental events. The role also encompasses providing audio-visual and technical services for University-wide signature events, managing performance facilities, scheduling, and general maintenance. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, as the position requires serving as a project manager and collaborating effectively with various stakeholders.
** Duties/Responsibilities:
*** Supervise and coordinate technical and production aspects of musical performances in a variety of facilities, including student-facing events, university events and ceremonies, and rental events.
* Perform audio-visual and other technical services in connection with University-wide signature events.
* Manage performance facilities, scheduling and general maintenance as needed.
* Strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to serve in the role of project manager and work collaboratively
* The ability to live-stream as well as capture and edit specified university events.
* Preserve a safe working environment and smooth transitions between events.
* Practical and current knowledge of professional standards of back stage operations, theater safety and fire codes.
* Maintain a safe, clean and presentable environment including performance facilities, work spaces, backstage areas and public areas.
* Train, supervise, schedule and evaluate student and contract employees. Establish a training program for student production crew that can support the programs managed by the campus productions.
* Oversee all technical needs and staffing for Music Department events
* Serve as creative designer for the Music Department: lighting, sound, projection, set building, etc.
* Help the university maintain accreditation with the National Association of Schools of Music.
* Potential to teach a course-stage management, technical work, lighting design, etc.
* Communicate and collaborate with the College of Arts and Sciences Arts Administrator and Wingate Events on staffing and scheduling
* And other duties as assigned by both the Assistant Vice President of Marketing Events and Music Department.
* Regular, predictable attendance on campus

** Required Skills/Abilities:
*** Ability to use common design software’s to create graphics for title cards, caption, lower
* Demonstrated experience with live streaming software, hardware and process (please provide a URL to a production you produced and live streamed)
* Proficiency in/knowledge of live video broadcast production, including video switcher, camera, recording gear, digital video equipment, digital sound systems, monitoring systems, lighting systems, video distribution systems, projection equipment and digital media servers.
* Ability to troubleshoot theatrical system issues and understand signal flow, digital and analog systems, and networking.

Education and Experience:

* Master’s degree preferred
* Prior experience in music production and recording arts
* 6+ years of managerial experience
