The Digital Proofreader ensures that all printed material produced is grammatically correct, structurally sound and logical, and that the intended meaning is clear.

• Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
• Faithfully upholds BGEA in prayer
• Participates in daily BGEA staff devotions including Bible reading, and leading group prayer as schedule permits
• Demonstrates behavior aligned with BGEA’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations
• Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence

• Proofreads original material checking for proper grammar, structure, BGEA style, punctuation, accuracy, logic, and copyright of each piece
• Proofs material consists of web stories, emails, landing pages, streaming pages, event websites and more, double‑checking links.
• Contributes to the printed proofing projects at BGEA, checking for proper layout, with no missing elements, proper color break, correct fold, pages in right order, spots, and blemishes
• Looks at materials on both desktop and phone for user experience quality control.

• Recommends editorial copy changes
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or related field preferred, or equivalent related experience
• Good command of the English language, including spelling, grammar, punctuation
• Experience with or capacity to effectively utilize digital workflow software and Microsoft Office
• Good general knowledge of the Bible
• Copy editing experience a plus
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to minute details
• Ability to communicate verbally and in written for and with staff of all levels of the association
• Ability to relate to people well, be approachable and manage administrative tasks simultaneously

• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects in a high‑paced environment
• Ability to concentrate despite distractions
• Ability to work under stress and deadline requirements
• Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changing job parameters, deadlines, or directions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team while demonstrating flexibility when priorities change

• Work is typically performed in a conventional office environment
• Work can involve working beyond standard hours and without prior notice, if necessary
