At CESO, a Landscape Designer will work as part of the Landscape Architecture team, supporting the development of aesthetic, functional, and environmentally responsive site designs. Under the guidance of senior team members, a Landscape Designer will assist in the preparation of construction documents, graphic presentations, and technical analyses. This position provides foundational experience in landscape architectural practice, including exposure to site planning, planting design, grading, and detailing.

A Landscape Designer will collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to support project goals and professional development objectives.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assisting senior team members in preparing landscape architectural construction documents, including site layout, hardscape, planting, irrigation, and lighting plans.
  • Supporting the development of 2D and 3D visualizations using AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Photoshop, and Lumion.
  • Conducting research on site conditions, environmental constraints, jurisdictional and ordinance requirements, and documenting findings.
  • Participating in internal project meetings and contributing to design discussions.
  • Performing revisions as directed by senior team members and self-checking completed work for accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Coordinating design elements with other disciplines, including civil engineering and architecture.
  • Preparing base files and converting digital data into usable formats for design and documentation.
  • Participating in site visits to observe and document project progress and assisting in preparing site reports.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field is required.
  • 0-3 years of professional experience in landscape architecture is preferred; internship/co‑ops may be counted towards years of experience.
  • Progression toward Landscape Architecture Registration is encouraged.
  • Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Lumion, and Bluebeam.
  • Knowledge regarding land‑use activities.
  • Experience balancing multiple projects simultaneously is preferred.
  • Ability to function independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Travel required on an as‑needed basis.
