Position: Teaching Assistant Professor / Lecturer - Electrical & Computer Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) in the Williams States Lee College of Engineering invites applications for the position of Teaching Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) / Lecturer to begin in August 2026 (position # 001788). The primary role of this position includes teaching undergraduate courses in electrical and computer engineering, junior design, mentoring student design project teams, and participating in course/curriculum development and improvement.

Job Duties:

Applicants must be committed to teach undergraduate electrical and computer engineering courses including computer programming in C++, digital logic, electrical circuits, signals and systems, electronics, embedded systems, algorithms and data structures, and be actively involved in mentoring junior and senior design projects. Strong interest in collaborating with faculty on undergraduate curriculum development and research activities is desirable.

UNC Charlotte has recently earned top tier status in the nation with its new R1 designation. The ECE Department currently comprises 37 full time faculty members who are actively engaged in research and teaching in the broad areas of computer systems, communications, controls, signal/image processing, electronics devices, microelectronics, and power and energy systems. The ECE department offers B.S. and M.S. degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering, with approximately 550 undergraduate and 200 graduate students;

Education/training: A PhD in electrical and/or computer engineering or equivalent degree is required for Teaching Assistant Professor Rank; a Master’s degree in electrical and/or computer engineering with a minimum of five years’ experience may be considered for Lecturer rank.
