As a 5th Grade Teacher, you will develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines, establish effective rapport with students, staff members, and parents, and motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge to provide an effective educational foundation.
You Will Impact Education
- Plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to the company's philosophy, goals, and objectives.
- Make purposeful lesson plans that maximize time on task.
- Present subject matter to students to maximize learning and provide real‑world, application‑based examples.
- Review student records to understand each student's abilities and needs; maintain accurate records.
- Strive to maximize each student's educational achievement.
- Use a variety of learning modalities and differentiate instruction.
- Conduct frequent diagnostic assessments.
- Provide appropriate activities and generate progress reports.
- Refer students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel.
- Coordinate class field trips as required.
- Prepare students for state‑required assessments.
- Keep current in subject‑matter knowledge and learning theory; share knowledge for curriculum improvement.
- Assist in ongoing curriculum revision and selection of instructional materials.
- Become acquainted with supplemental services beneficial to students.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Maintain positive rapport and demonstrate patience and nurturing support.
- Keep the classroom clean, safe, and display student work.
- Implement policies governing student conduct and maintain classroom order.
- Develop lesson plans consistent with established guidelines and goals.
- Plan individual and group learning activities to meet instructional objectives.
- Prepare for assigned classes and demonstrate preparation upon request.
- Collaborate with staff in curriculum planning meetings.
- Incorporate diagnostic information from IEPs into planning.
- Take precautions to protect supplies and materials needed for instruction.
- Establish cooperative relationships with parents and guardians.
- Communicate clearly, consistently, and positively with parents.
- Cooperate with administration and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records.
- Participate in parent communication activities.
- Participate in extracurricular activities to support positive school culture.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment toward the position and the mission of CSUSA.
- Possess strong time management and organizational skills.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, parents, and community.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to corporate needs and public image.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be reliable, punctual, and responsive to management direction.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office, Student Information System, and email.
- Seek ways to improve and promote quality.
- Apply best practices and positive character education.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) from an accredited college or university or equivalent; possession of valid teaching certification.
- One to three years of successful teaching experience (may include student‑teaching internship).
- Equivalence combination of education and experience.
- Command of grade‑specific content and learning theory.
- Understanding of and commitment to company values.
- Successful background checks.
- Effective instructional delivery and communication skills; adhere to the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.
- Open to alternative accommodations as appropriate.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- No physical exertion required.
- Somewhat stressful due to frequent student activity.
- Light work: exert up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently.
Exempt from overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
