Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to teach undergraduate English courses in a hybrid format for the upcoming Winter quarter starting January 5th. This role requires 11 in‑person sessions (2 hours each week) and an asynchronous online component. Office hours will be held as assigned.

- Teach courses as assigned from a pre‑designed curriculum and provide high‑quality instruction.
- Enhance the curriculum using technology and videos.
- Arrive on campus at least half an hour prior to the start time of in‑person sessions per week during the academic quarter.
- Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience for the online component.
- Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours to ensure timely feedback.
- Establish high standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated.
- Adhere to University policies and procedures.
- Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and overall computer skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.
- Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective time‑management skills.
- Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience are required.
- Master’s degree in Communications, English, or English Education.
- Or Master’s degree with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter hours of graduate coursework in Communications, English or English Education.
- Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).
- Must be able to travel weekly to the required location(s).
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Typical office setting; mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
- Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required.
- Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
- Other essential functions and marginal job functions are subject to modification.

$2,300–$2,600 is the expected starting pay per online assignment for this position per quarter, and $3,000 is the expected starting pay per on‑campus assignment for this position per quarter. If your location is near a campus, on‑campus teaching may be required. Current and future assignments are based on additional factors outlined below.

Strayer University Adjunct Faculty are compensated based on the number and type of courses taught in a given quarter. Currently, compensation for courses ranges from $2,300 – $3,100.
