Instructor of Psychology

Position Description

University of South Carolina Lancaster, a Palmetto College campus located approximately thirty-five miles south of Charlotte, NC, is seeking an Instructor of Psychology for a professional‑track, 9‑month appointment beginning August 16, 2026. The instructor will normally teach twelve credit hours per semester (or its equivalent), including evening and distributed learning courses as needed, and may also teach upper‑division courses in the Palmetto College online bachelor’s degree program.

Candidates will be expected to teach dual‑credit high‑school courses at both Indian Land and main campus locations.

• Teach foundational psychology courses to freshmen and sophomores.
• Develop and deliver instructional materials, assessments, and course content.
• Provide academic support and mentorship to students, including support for dual‑credit and online learners.
• Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and community outreach.

• Master’s degree in psychology (or related field) with a minimum of 18 graduate‑level credit hours in psychology.
• Demonstrated teaching experience in a university setting (preferred).
• Commitment to service to the university and broader community.
