Field Technician – Recip Operator (Power Generation)

System One LLC is seeking a Field Technician – Recip Operator to support power generation operations through the safe operation and maintenance of gas reciprocating engine packages. This role is critical to ensuring reliable, continuous power delivery and requires hands-on operational expertise, strong safety awareness, and the ability to respond effectively to real-time equipment conditions in the field.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and monitor gas reciprocating engine packages and associated power generation equipment
- Ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation of all assigned assets
- Monitor control panels, gauges, and instrumentation to verify proper operating parameters
- Coordinate with the Remote Operations Center for diagnostics, fault-finding, and troubleshooting
- Evaluate equipment readiness following shutdown or upset events
- Lead and support troubleshooting efforts across equipment, controls, and interfaces
- Perform external visual inspections and routine walk-around checks
- Maintain accurate daily operational logs and maintenance records
- Maintain high housekeeping standards within operational areas
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and startup of power generation assets
- Apply operational software tools to improve efficiency and performance
- Support ongoing performance optimization and power generation efficiency initiatives
- Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures
- Attend required safety meetings and training; properly utilize PPE at all times
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs
- Minimum 1 year of gas turbine operations or electrical experience
- Prior experience with gas reciprocating engine packages preferred
- CAT gas engine experience strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and control drawings
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work 12+ hour shifts
, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays - Comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Ability to work effectively under time-sensitive and emergency conditions
- Team-oriented, responsive, and action-driven mindset
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, and climb ladders or stairs
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces for extended periods
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 80 pounds
- Regular use of hands for tools, controls, and equipment operation
- Field-based power generation sites
- Moderate to high noise levels
- Exposure to outdoor and extreme weather conditions
