Position Overview

The Project Engineer (PE) is a key member of the project team, responsible for supporting the Project Manager (PM) in the execution and delivery of construction projects. The PE provides technical and administrative support, manages critical project documentation, coordinates with subcontractors, consultants, and clients, and helps ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities

Project Documentation & Communication
  • Manage, track, and coordinate all Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring timely responses and clear communication between subcontractors, design teams, and the owner.
  • Administer and coordinate all submittals
    , ensuring compliance with contract documents and timely approval to maintain project schedule.
  • Maintain organized project records, logs, and correspondence in accordance with company standards.
Scheduling & Planning
  • Develop, maintain, and update the Primavera P6 project schedule
    , ensuring integration of subcontractor schedules, procurement activities, and project milestones.
  • Monitor schedule progress and highlight risks, delays, or opportunities to the PM and project team.
Construction Support
  • Assist the PM in tracking project budgets, commitments, and change orders.
  • Coordinate with field staff to ensure drawings, specifications, and other technical documents are current and accessible.
  • Support procurement by soliciting subcontractor/vendor quotes, preparing scopes of work, and assisting with buyout.
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.
General PE Duties
  • Participate in project meetings (owner, architect/engineer, subcontractor) and prepare meeting minutes as required.
  • Assist with punch lists, closeout documentation, and turnover packages.
  • Work collaboratively with field teams, ensuring alignment between office and jobsite operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the PM and project success.
Position Requirements Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • 1–4 years of experience in a construction or GC environment (internships included).
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6
    , Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with construction documents, specifications, and contracts.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
