This opportunity has tremendous upside as it scales. Civil Grid aggregates public and proprietary utility, geotechnical, environmental, and jurisdictional data. The consolidated information is sold via our collaborative SaaS mapping platform to engineers and developers who need it to make early‑stage decisions on real estate and infrastructure projects.

Real‑time data access reduces labor and project delays, accelerates decision making and reduces project risk. Collaborative features ensure faster information flow and decisioning inside and outside the organization and better project insight retention over time.

Civil Grid’s Data team uncovers and manages the foundational datasets underlying the Civil Grid app. In this role, you’ll be a key early hire for a new group within the Data team laser‑focused on delivering insights from engineering record drawings and as‑builts.

• Lead and coordinate digitization tasks and workflows, ensuring alignment on timelines and priorities with stakeholders.
• Provide detailed markup and interpretation of utility engineering records and as‑builts.
• Conduct quality assurance on digitized deliverables.
• Manage subcontractors, internal teams, and customers to facilitate smooth project execution and process scaling.
• Collaborate closely with Data and Customer Success leadership to refine operational processes.

• 2+ years experience in project management within subsurface utility engineering (SUE).
• Preferred:
  Additional background as a field technician and/or utilities research coordinator.
• Proficiency with project management tools and techniques (e.g., task tracking, stakeholder reporting, timeline management).
• Strong ability to interpret civil engineering plans, record drawings, and as‑builts.
• Comfortable with GIS and/or CAD software (ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, Micro Station).
• Process‑driven and always looking to optimize.
• Organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision.
