The Electrical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all electrical systems, navigational aids (NAVAIDs), and UPS/DC battery systems on the offshore installation. The role covers planned maintenance, corrective maintenance, system optimization, and operational support for both high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) equipment, with a focus on maintaining continuous power supply, system integrity, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned and corrective maintenance on all electrical systems, including HV/LV power distribution, motors, switch gear, and protection systems.
  • Maintain and support reliability of UPS, DC battery systems, and associated backup power equipment to ensure continuous supply to critical systems.
  • Oversee the operation, inspection, and general maintenance of all navigational aid (NAVAID) equipment, ensuring compliance with offshore and maritime standards.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control issues and respond to system alarms to minimize downtime and maintain safe operations.
  • Execute maintenance activities through the SAP, ensuring accurate planning, documentation, and closeout of work orders.
  • Support isolations, permitting, and safe work practices, ensuring compliance with electrical safety rules and offshore regulations.
  • Provide technical assistance during operations, start-up activities, failure investigations, and system improvements.

Qualification & Experience

  • Degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Systems, or related discipline.
  • Experience in offshore installations, power generation, or industrial electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, UPS systems, and DC battery maintenance.
  • Experience with NAVAIDs or marine Aids-to-Navigation systems preferred.
  • Familiar with CMMS platforms (e.g., SAP, Maximo, IFS).
  • Valid offshore certifications (BOSIET/FOET, medical) or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Solid understanding of electrical safety rules, isolation procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Effective communication and teamwork in a multidisciplinary offshore environment.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on reliability and safety.
