Overview

Next Direct LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Gilbane Building Company, serves our project teams and clients by providing expertise in direct procurement of permanent project equipment and materials (examples include major structure materials, enclosure materials, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, etc.).

Next Direct is seeking a hands‑on, detail‑oriented individual to join our team as a Supply Chain Coordinator
. In this role, you will be responsible for the physical management, check‑in, and inventory of equipment for a major data center project in Charlotte, NC
. This is a technical, on‑site position ideal for someone who enjoys working with hardware and logistics and is interested in developing a career in procurement and supply chain management. This role is designed as a steppingstone to a procurement or project management position. You will receive mentorship and training in both supply chain operations and procurement, with opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and check in data center equipment and materials upon delivery.
  • Physically inventory and organize equipment in storage and deployment areas.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment status, location, and movement using inventory management systems(CX Alloy).
  • Support project managers in scheduling and coordinating equipment deployment for ongoing projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies in equipment deliveries or inventory counts.
  • Communicate with vendors, logistics partners, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate equipment handling.
  • Prepare regular reports on inventory status, equipment utilization, and project milestones.
  • Assist with equipment lifecycle management, including deployment, redeployment, and decommissioning.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
