Applications Engineer (CNC / Turnkey Manufacturing)
Location: Southeastern U.S. (travel up to 50%)

A global machine tool builder is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to support turnkey manufacturing projects — developing, programming, and validating CNC machining processes that meet customer quality and cycle time requirements. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position ideal for someone with a strong background in CNC programming, process development, and on-site technical support.
Key Responsibilities- Lead turnkey projects from process development through final acceptance, ensuring performance goals for cycle time, quality, and budget are met.
- Develop and optimize CNC programs (Fanuc preferred; Siemens or Heidenhain a plus).
- Select tooling, establish feeds/speeds, and validate processes through SPC run-offs.
- Troubleshoot machining, fixturing, and process issues to drive efficiency and quality.
- Apply gauging and CMM verification methods to certify turnkey performance.
- Support customer machine installations, training, and run-offs (both in-house and on-site).
- Collaborate with Sales and Proposal teams on process planning and quoting.
- Provide remote and on-site applications assistance to customers and service teams.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
- 5+ years of CNC programming experience (Fanuc required; 5-axis experience a strong plus).
- Proficiency with Mastercam, Siemens NX, or Solid Works
. - Skilled in SPC techniques, process validation, and cycle time optimization.
- Solid understanding of cutting tools, feeds/speeds, and machining of automotive/aerospace components.
- Familiarity with hydraulic/pneumatic fixturing and ISO
9001 standards. - Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%.

- Capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Hands-on mindset with a passion for process improvement and precision manufacturing.
