Applications Engineer (CNC / Turnkey Manufacturing)

Location: Southeastern U.S. (travel up to 50%)

A global machine tool builder is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to support turnkey manufacturing projects — developing, programming, and validating CNC machining processes that meet customer quality and cycle time requirements. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position ideal for someone with a strong background in CNC programming, process development, and on-site technical support.

• Lead turnkey projects from process development through final acceptance, ensuring performance goals for cycle time, quality, and budget are met.
• Develop and optimize CNC programs (Fanuc preferred; Siemens or Heidenhain a plus).
• Select tooling, establish feeds/speeds, and validate processes through SPC run-offs.
• Troubleshoot machining, fixturing, and process issues to drive efficiency and quality.
• Apply gauging and CMM verification methods to certify turnkey performance.
• Support customer machine installations, training, and run-offs (both in-house and on-site).
• Collaborate with Sales and Proposal teams on process planning and quoting.
• Provide remote and on-site applications assistance to customers and service teams.

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
• 5+ years of CNC programming experience (Fanuc required; 5-axis experience a strong plus).
• Proficiency with Mastercam, Siemens NX, or Solid Works

• Skilled in SPC techniques, process validation, and cycle time optimization.
• Solid understanding of cutting tools, feeds/speeds, and machining of automotive/aerospace components.
• Familiarity with hydraulic/pneumatic fixturing and ISO
  9001 standards.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
