We have an exciting opportunity to join our Water/Wastewater team as a Sr. Structural Licensed Engineer (PE) in any of our offices across the mid‑Atlantic region. If you want to work at a company that will help you become the best you can be, we’re glad you found McKim & Creed.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL INCLUDE:
  • Provides technical and design services for structural concrete, steel, concrete masonry and timber buildings and structures in support of water infrastructure projects (i.e., water and wastewater treatment, water distribution and wastewater collection/pumping).
  • Calculations to support structural engineering analyses for foundation, floor and roof framing assemblies to support various process and equipment layouts, preparation of technical memorandums and reports, design drawings, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
  • Works as part of a project team and coordinates/schedules work with other team members, including structural engineers and other discipline leads.
  • Manages various tasks on several concurrent projects independently through to completion within allocated time and budget.
WHAT YOU NEED:
  • BS in Engineering with North Carolina PE registration or the ability to acquire a North Carolina PE quickly via reciprocity.
  • 10+ years of experience in municipal water and wastewater design.
  • Technically competent, a team player, and good communication skills required.
  • Self‑motivated and capable of working independently to complete assignments.
  • Proficient knowledge of state building codes, ASCE‑7, and multiple ACI, AISC, and TMS design specifications and standards for concrete, steel, and concrete masonry designs.
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle; successful drug screen and criminal record check required.
