Join us as a Construction Materials Testing/Inspection Project Manager at Kleinfelder.
We’re looking for a Project Manager with expertise in Construction Materials, Engineering, and Testing (CoMET) to lead our Charlotte, NC office.

Overview

Kleinfelder is a leading engineering firm offering construction services, laboratory testing, and forensic engineering to support America’s infrastructure. With more than 25 accredited laboratories, we provide clients across North Carolina with high‑quality testing and inspection services.

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead project and service delivery teams
  • Mentor and manage operational staff in field and laboratory
  • Communicate with clients and internal teams to deliver high‑quality services profitably
  • Coordinate work to ensure projects, contracts, budgets, and schedules are met
  • Set challenging goals, prioritize tasks, overcome obstacles, and motivate the team
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for staff
  • Develop and review project proposals
  • Sell Kleinfelder’s services to new and existing clients in alignment with the business plan
Required Competencies / Experience
  • Minimum 7 years in materials testing, special inspection, construction management, or related engineering services.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience with direct client interaction.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a high‑pressure environment with changing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a drug test.
  • Proficiency with a company‑provided laptop or tablet and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and high level of personal integrity.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Competencies
  • Certifications in construction inspection and testing from ACI, ICC, NICET, or AWS.
  • Professional Engineer license.
