- Support permitting and interconnection processes by preparing technical documentation and responding to utility/regulatory inquiries.
- Participate in factory acceptance tests (FATs), commissioning, and performance testing of battery systems.
- Perform modeling and simulations of BESS performance under varying grid and operating scenarios.
- Analyze and optimize battery dispatch strategies for energy arbitrage, capacity, frequency response, and other ancillary services.
- Monitor, assess, and troubleshoot operational issues to ensure optimal performance of integrated solar + storage systems.
- Ensure compliance with all codes, standards, and safety requirements (NEC, IEEE, NFPA, UL, and local regulations).
- Support the development of safety protocols and hazard analysis for BESS projects.
- Work cross-functionally with project managers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Stay current with emerging battery technologies, standards, and market trends to continuously improve design and implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Systems, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Must have at least 3 years of BESS integration experience at a major BESS integrator in the US.
- Must have proven BESS deployment experience in the US. Direct working experience on BMS.
- Strong hands-on experiences of lithium-ion batteries, inverters, PCS, EMS, and balance of plant systems.
- Hands-on experience with commissioning and operations of BESS projects.
- Familiarity with interconnection processes and utility requirements.
- Experience with EPC project lifecycle from design through commissioning preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Knowledge of hybrid solar + storage project integration.
- Familiarity with SCADA, communication protocols, and grid control systems.
- PE license or working toward licensure is a plus.
