Job OverviewElectrical/I&C Design Engineers are needed to support a major client in the nuclear industry in North or South Carolina for 1‑year assignments.
Job Responsibilities- Perform design engineering work for electrical and I&C projects within the engineering organization.
- Include digital and software focused items in I&C engineering work.
- Leverage current qualification at a nuclear utility as a Modification Engineer under an INPO Accredited Program and knowledge of Passport or Consolidated Asset Suite.
- Optional: experience in Operations department.
- Obtain qualifications for a Modification Engineer prior to working independently.
- Act as Lead Technical and/or Responsible Engineer for assigned projects and support other project teams.
- Develop design packages, conceptual designs and specifications for bidding, evaluate alternatives, provide technical support during implementation, setpoint development, coordinate design efforts with vendors/AEs/designer, and conduct design package reviews.
- Develop design products for major digital controls system replacements, software evaluations, instrument component upgrades, and control circuits.
- Qualify in necessary duty areas to act independently as a Responsible Engineer for modifications; past qualifications and product demonstration from other utilities acceptable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 2 years engineering experience in the nuclear industry, with background in digital hardware/software modifications.
- Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear facility, including General Employee Training, Radiation Worker Training, Security Clearance checks, and compliance with the site’s Fitness for Duty Program.
- Professional Engineer registration/licensure.
- Digital/I&C engineering experience at Brunswick Nuclear Plant.
- Knowledge of digital upgrade specific licensing requirements and current 10
CFR
73.54 Cyber Security.
- Experience developing digital/software modification test plans.
- Experience with 10
CFR
50.59 regarding designing modifications to a nuclear facility.
