Are you our next Full Professor in the Embedded Systems Engineering section at DTU Compute?

You possess expertise in one or more areas within the broad domains of computer architecture, computer systems, or chip design. You could have insights in, among others, System-on-Chip (SoC) and chiplet designs, with an emphasis on energy-efficient processors; hardware-software co-design to enhance machine learning performance; novel chip design strategies prioritizing efficiency and cost; verification of digital designs; advancements in electronic design automation (EDA), especially for AI hardware;

optimization techniques for high-performance multicore processors; innovative hardware solutions targeting cybersecurity resilience; leveraging AI and cloud technologies in EDA; edge computing and edge AI architectures; and cutting-edge method and tools for embedded systems that balance performance, power, cost, and reliability.

Your research at DTU will be jump-started with financial backing from our section’s budget. We offer you the possibility to employ one postdoc or assistant professor to support your research. We value intellectual freedom, offering you full research autonomy. We understand the value of balance—we ensure a reasonable teaching load, providing ample time for your research (at least 50%). As the upcoming Professor in Computer Engineering and Hardware Design you will be expected to play a foundational role in both advancing the field and guiding the future of our expanding ESE section. As we anticipate the recruitment of 10 new faculty members in the upcoming five years, this position stands as a unique opportunity for you to influence the direction of research, shape the curriculum, and impact the recruitment strategy for our team.

Essential to this role is your drive to support and shape the recently initiated Computer Engineering BSc program and make contributions to our MSc program in Computer Science and Engineering. The successful candidate must have a proven ability to teach and advise students.

As our new professor you must strengthen research and innovation efforts within the research field at the department by generating new research projects that involve other staff members. Research activities are also expected to be conducted in cooperation with relevant sections at the DTU Compute department, and more broadly at DTU, as well as nationally and internationally. Hence, as a successful candidate you can demonstrate a solid track record of participating in international research activities, and in attracting and managing research projects, also in close collaboration with industry.

You also have strong international collaborations with leading research groups in the relevant fields. Furthermore, the professor is expected to develop strong ties to relevant industrial partners to foster innovations within the field of research.

We are looking for a candidate who has a strong, proven track record in research and education on an international level within the broad areas of computer architecture, computer systems, and chip design, such as:

  • Novel Approaches for Chip Design;
    Advanced System-on-Chip (SoC) and Chiplet Designs

You must be enthusiastic about teaching and interacting with students and have successful experience in teaching and supervising students in one or more of the disciplines covered by the section.
