Backup Engineer - Rubrik

We are seeking a seasoned Backup Engineer with deep expertise in Rubrik to lead a strategic transformation of our enterprise backup infrastructure. This role will be instrumental in assessing the current environment and driving a multi-year migration to Cohesity Data Protect or Veritas Net Backup.

Conduct a comprehensive inventory of the current Rubrik-based backup landscape.
Develop a migration strategy and execution plan to transition to a new backup platform (Cohesity or Net Backup) over the next 5-10 years.
Evaluate existing configurations, identify gaps, and propose scalable, secure, and efficient alternatives.

Collaborate with operations teams to document best practices, standards, and operational procedures.
Assist in writing and refining operations guides and SOPs.
Review existing documentation and ensure alignment with enterprise compliance and security standards.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of hands-on experience with Rubrik in enterprise environments.
Proven ability to lead backup platform assessments and migrations.
Familiarity with Cohesity Data Protect and/or Veritas Net Backup is a strong plus.
Strong documentation skills and experience writing operational runbooks or SOPs.
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience in enterprise-scale backup modernization projects.
Exposure to hybrid or cloud-based backup architectures.
Located in or willing to relocate to Charlotte, NC;
Denver, CO candidates will also be considered.
