Qualifications- Education: Bachelors, Masters, or equivalent degree in a Science-related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years in the industry, with a focus on asbestos, lead, indoor air quality, and mold/moisture inspections. Phase I ESA experience is a plus.
- Skills: Excellent communication, client management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel. Spoken proficiency in Spanish preferred.
- Certifications: Asbestos: NC/SC/TN/VA/GA Asbestos Inspector / NC Supervising Air Monitor / NC & SC Management Planner licenses or ability to obtain. Lead: NC & SC Lead Inspector/Assessor licenses or ability to obtain. Additional certifications like CHMM, 40 Hour HAZWOPER, 10/30 Hour Construction Safety and CIE/CMI are desirable but not required.
- Other Requirements: Mastery of the English language (written and spoken). Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Ability to frequently lift/move up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Ability to work at heights (>6 feet), in confined spaces, and to walk up/down stairs. Completion of mandatory trainings, including safety training. Availability for off-hour emergency work. Respond as a member of the Hillmann 24-hour disaster response team.
- Maintain certifications and licenses.
- Respond to client emergencies as needed.
- Conduct thorough investigations related to Industrial Hygiene, including indoor air quality, mold/moisture inspections, asbestos surveys, and lead-based paint inspections.
- Develop remediation plans, report findings, and ensure compliance with industry guidelines.
- Perform air, surface, and water sampling according to USEPA, OSHA, NIOSH, and industry analytical methods.
- Perform employee exposure monitoring for various environmental hazards.
- Conduct employee noise exposure assessments and monitoring.
- Execute Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and other environmental hazard evaluations.
- Other responsibilities as dictated.
