The Fordy Group is partnering with a leading heavy civil and asphalt contractor in the Charlotte, NC area to find a Senior Estimator. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the estimating process for highway, roadway, and asphalt projects, working on high-profile infrastructure work in a fast-paced environment.
Role Overview:
The Senior Estimator will take ownership of preconstruction efforts, developing accurate cost estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, and coordinating subcontractor pricing. The role requires strong analytical skills, leadership, and a proven ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil, highway, and asphalt projects
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to define project scope
- Perform quantity takeoffs and enter data into HCSS Heavy Bid
- Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing, including RFPs and RFIs
- Identify risks, constructability concerns, and value-engineering opportunities
- Collaborate with project management and operations to ensure estimates align with construction methods
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience estimating heavy civil and asphalt projects
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Proficiency with HCSS, Bluebeam Revu, and/or AGTEK
- Ability to read, interpret, and scale civil engineering plans
