Position: Company Man - (Drilling/Worker Operation)

The Company Man is the Company's on-site representative responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of drilling, workover, well intervention, completion, and abandonment operations. The role ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with the approved drilling program, company policies, HSE standards, contractual obligations, and applicable regulatory requirements.

The Company Man coordinates all contractors and service providers at the well site while maintaining operational integrity, controlling costs, and ensuring timely reporting to the management team.

Key Responsibilities Operational Management
  • Supervise all drilling, workover, completion, and well intervention operations.
  • Execute operations in accordance with approved drilling/workover programs.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures and engineering standards.
  • Coordinate daily activities of drilling contractors and service companies.
  • Monitor drilling parameters and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation measures.
  • Ensure equipment readiness before commencement of operations.
  • Oversee rig-up, rig-down, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Verify that all critical operations are executed safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate logistics, materials, fuel, chemicals, and consumables required at the well site.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
  • Promote a strong safety culture at the worksite.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Company HSE policies and local regulations.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety meetings.
  • Verify implementation of Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
  • Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Stop any unsafe operation that could endanger personnel, equipment, or the environment.
  • Ensure emergency response procedures are understood by all personnel.
Contractor & Service Company Management
  • Supervise drilling contractor performance.
  • Coordinate activities of service companies including:
  • Cementing
  • Wireline
  • Logging
  • Mud Engineering
  • Directional Drilling
  • Fishing Services
  • Well Testing
  • Coiled Tubing
  • Nitrogen Services
  • Verify contractor compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Monitor contractor productivity and service quality.
Cost Control
  • Monitor daily operational costs.
  • Optimize resource utilization without compromising safety.
  • Review contractor invoices and field tickets.
  • Verify service reports before approval.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
Quality Assurance
  • Ensure all operations comply with company standards and industry best practices.
  • Verify quality of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Monitor critical well parameters.
  • Ensure accurate execution of drilling and completion programs.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare Daily Drilling Reports (DDR) and operational summaries.
  • Maintain detailed records of all field activities.
  • Report operational progress to management.
  • Document non-productive time (NPT) events.
  • Record lessons learned and operational improvements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for company-owned equipment.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards.
  • Support regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Ensure required permits and certifications are maintained.
  • Verify environmental compliance throughout operations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • Diploma holders with extensive field experience may also be considered.
  • IWCF or IADC Well Control Certification (Supervisor Level) preferred.
  • Valid HSE certifications are desirable.
Experience
