District engineer for natural gas engineering projects across multiple North Carolina districts.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the district engineer for Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Burlington, High Point, and Reidsville districts in North Carolina
- Design meter sets, services, and stations; review work for non-engineering groups in your district
- Assist with review and updating of standards and procedures
- Travel to project sites and project kickoffs in your area
Requirements - education & experience
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program (Master's degree in engineering considered in lieu of B.S.)
- Minimum of 4 years of natural gas engineering experience at a "Fully Meets" performance level
Required skills
- Proficiency in gas engineering theories and principles relating to design
- Ability to research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, and make sound recommendations
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
Nice-to-have / preferred skills
- Familiarity with Federal Code CFR 192
- Experience with natural gas relevant ANSI, ASTM, and API codes
- Knowledge of project management principles
- Experience in the utility industry
- State Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE)
- Hybrid role with work performed from both remote and onsite locations after onboarding period
- Employees should live within a reasonable commute to Charlotte, NC
