The position is responsible for the coordination and reporting of the financial results, month-end close procedures, and financial analysis on a monthly basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform closing processes for month-end according to BoD deadlines.
- Maintain general ledger/chart of accounts – including adding and deleting accounts; closing the accounting periods; and analyzing GL accounts and reconciling to sub-account systems.
- Provide timely and accurate financial reporting for board presentations as well as periodic reporting for government and tax authorities.
- Reconcile bank statements and note/take corrective action on unusual items.
- Review all payables and check for accuracy.
- Fixed asset management – initiating GL account numbers, properly capitalizing PP&E, and writing off disposals.
- Provide management with useful financial information to support strategic initiatives and plans – via updating various workbooks and files on a monthly basis.
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Responsible for cash entries for manual checks, payroll disbursements, wire payments, etc. (anything that does not run through the AP module).
- Preparation of the annual operating plan.
- Assistance with annual internal audit.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance. - Experience:
1 year of accounting experience. Manufacturing accounting experience preferred. - Computer
Skills:
Familiar with Microsoft Office suite. - Mathematical Abilities:
Understands debit/credit activity and accrual accounting. - Communication
Skills:
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Must be able to communicate with both management and non-management associates. - Other
Skills:
