Jumpstart your career in Corporate Tax!Are you detail-oriented, curious, and ready to learn all things tax? This top Charlotte based employer is looking for a Tax Accountant to join their team and get hands-on experience with sales/use tax, federal and state filings, property tax, and more. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow, collaborate with experienced tax pros, and make an impact from day one. The successful candidate will work closely with senior tax leadership to support tax filings, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns, including Canadian GST/HST/PST/QST, with related journal entries.
- Assist with state income tax returns, apportionment schedules, estimated payments, and federal tax schedules.
- Support property tax compliance and preparation for valuation visits.
- Prepare abandoned/unclaimed property filings and specialized payroll/railroad tax returns (e.g., CT-1, 945A, DC-1).
- Research tax questions and reconcile accounts.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and special projects as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (corporate tax coursework preferred).
- Strong Excel skills and comfort with systems (Oracle Cloud, Vertex, Corptax experience is a plus).
- 1–3 years of tax or accounting experience, either in public accounting or a corporate setting.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn across all areas of taxation.
- CPA, MSA, or MST in progress or completed is a plus.
