Job DescriptionDirect origination of residential mortgage loans from a borrower through a branch network.
Primary Responsibilities- Complete mortgage applications for submission to the loan processing and underwriting departments.
- Evaluate loan requests, analyze financial data, and determine qualification of collateral and customer credit history.
- Maintain contact with loan customer, communicating progress and obtaining required documentation.
- Structure loans to comply with acceptable lending practices and Federal regulations.
- Establish detailed marketing/business plan including names of potential and existing loan customers, realtors, builders, developers.
- Answer customer calls and walk‑in customers to discuss various loan products and qualification information.
- Make sales calls on potential or existing customers to develop new business or retain existing business.
- Cross‑sell other bank products and services.
- Read surveys and appraisals and take steps to correct encroachments and violations.
- Participate in networking through professional, business and community organizations to promote loan products.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year of mortgage lending experience with proven mortgage production.
- Experience developing external business via referral partners (realtors, builders, financial planners).
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Prior Mortgage Loan Officer experience.
- Good organizational skills.
- Knowledge of mortgage products, systems, terminology, tax requirements, down payment assistance programs, etc.
- Understanding of agency and investor regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships to deliver high levels of service.
- Ability to multi‑task competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Sales acumen.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong preference for MLOs with recent proven production of $10M or greater annually.

Incentive Pay PlansCommission-based incentive plan with potential earnings between $20,000 and $100,000+ per year.
