Capital Market Analyst, Asset Pricing & Valuation

Overview

The Capital Markets Analyst, Asset Pricing & Valuation, Consumer Direct (CD) and Non-HFA (Non-Housing Finance Agency), supports pricing strategy, asset valuation, and best‑execution efforts for mortgage originations in these channels. This role ensures competitive pricing, accurate loan valuation, and effective profit and loss management while providing analytical support for daily production decisions. The Analyst also drives process improvements, including automation, data integration, and operational efficiency initiatives, and maintains thorough documentation for new products, pricing updates, and enhancements.

By delivering critical insights and reporting, this role helps guide both strategic and daily pricing decisions in a fast‑paced, market‑driven environment.

This position will report to our office on Morehead Square Drive in Charlotte, NC, five days per week.

• Perform daily analysis to support dynamic pricing for Consumer Direct and Non-HFA channels, ensuring competitiveness and accurate asset valuation.
• Leverage strong analytical and logical problem‑solving abilities to validate data, optimize pricing models, and guide critical business decisions.
• Analyze mortgage‑backed securities (MBS) markets to identify trends, key drivers, and emerging opportunities.
• Partner with multiple functional teams to ensure pricing accuracy and maintain seamless alignment between front‑end pricing and back‑end profit and loss reporting.
• Conduct best‑execution analysis and present recommendations to senior management to support daily pricing decisions and maintain channel competitiveness.
• Prepare reports for the asset valuation team by mining, extracting, and transforming data into clear, accurate reports, charts, and visualizations.
• Maintain thorough documentation for new product rollouts, pricing updates, and product enhancements. Serve as the point person for capturing requirements and dependencies, and participate in all product and pricing enhancement rollout calls.
• Manage and prioritize intraday and ad‑hoc data requests, performing analytical work and research projects for internal business partners.
• Recommend and implement operational improvements to enhance pricing workflows, automate processes, and improve data quality to enhance business process performance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of mortgage products, agency and non‑agency guidelines, and industry developments.

• Bachelor’s degree related to Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience in capital markets, mortgage finance, financial services, or analytics.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Exposure to mortgage pricing, loan pipelines, or Consumer Direct and Correspondent mortgage environments.
• Experience with pricing engines or capital markets tools (e.g., Polly, MCT, Encompass).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
• Programming and data visualization skills preferred (VBA, SQL, Power BI, CAS).
