Director Finance

Overview

The Director of Finance leads and performs duties across multiple aspects of our business, serving as a key financial leader within the department, acute care leadership, institute and innovation center leadership, Market and system leadership.

• Documented analytical skills; must be able to absorb large amounts of data; draw sound business conclusions and communicate in executive summary format.
• Find performance improvement opportunities from reviewing financial and operational metrics.
• Financial acumen and general business savvy; strong financial knowledge and commitment to keeping Novant Health fiscally sound.
• Strategic mindset with strong conceptual abilities; planner and thinker; understand the big picture and add value to strategic planning and other areas.
• Capable of sitting at the table with senior leadership and board members, setting priorities for various projects.
• Leadership ability; take responsibility, move ahead, and encourage others to share the vision; inspire confidence and trust; proactive, roll‑up‑the‑sleeves style required.
• Excellent communication skills; able to elicit real issues and present ideas orally and in writing.
• Proven ability to collaborate within a large organization; exceptional interpersonal skill and highly professional demeanor.
• High energy level; understands urgency of meeting organizational needs; comfortable delegating.
• Highly skilled user of spreadsheet and database software products.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED (required). 4‑Year/Bachelor’s Degree (required). Graduate Degree (preferred).
• Experience:
  
  5‑7 years of professional experience; previous leadership experience (required).
• Licensure/Certification: CPA (preferred).
• Additional Skills (required): document analytical skills, absorption large data, sound conclusions, executive summary; find performance improvement opportunities; financial acumen; strategic mindset; work with senior leadership; leadership ability; communication; collaboration; high energy; spreadsheet/database proficiency.
