Job Overview - Senior Accountant - 34019
A growing, privately-held organization in the industrial/manufacturing sector is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance and accounting team! This role reports to the Accounting Manager and will serve as a key business partner to cross-functional leaders across the organization.
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in financial operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, analysis, and compliance. This is a high-visibility role with meaningful exposure to senior leadership and opportunities to contribute to strategic initiatives such as ERP implementation, acquisition integration, and process transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
* Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
* Calculate and accrue monthly commission payments; provide support to sales teams regarding commission-related inquiries.
* Reconcile and ensure compliance with sales and use tax obligations, including oversight of automated tax solutions.
* Support mergers and acquisitions activities, including acquisition accounting, policy alignment, and integration of systems and processes.
* Develop, document, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to mitigate risk and safeguard assets.
* Partner closely with functional leaders and key stakeholders across the business..
* Drive continuous process improvement across accounting and finance operations
* Assist with preparation of financial presentations and supporting materials for senior leadership, board members, and external stakeholders
Requirements
* Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience
* Prior experience in manufacturing/operational environment
* Strong foundation in audit (plus!)
* Experience working with ERP systems; implementation or optimization experience (plus!)
