As part of JFGC’s Finance staff you will be responsible for a variety of accounting, financial and operational services including, but not limited to, maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts and processing payroll.
This role should understand the importance of confidentiality and ensure they keep payroll, accounting and sensitive information private.
This position will be a full-time, in-office position with flexibility to work remotely when needed.
Job Responsibilities andEssential Job Functions:
Financial Management and Reporting:
Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports including creation and input of journal entries (accruals, release of funds, allocations, etc.) and production of monthly P&L statements and balance sheets.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Perform bank account reconciliations of multiple checking and investment accounts.
Partner with payroll provider to oversee bi-weekly payroll processing.
Work closely with the Chief Financial & Administrative Officer to enhance processes and efficiencies.
Budget:
Assist in the budgeting process by providing financial data and analysis and creating and producing budget documents.
Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and projections.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure that all appropriate financial policies and procedures of the JFGC and related entities are implemented and followed, including necessary internal controls.
Assist in annual audit, including preparation of schedules and providing required documentation for annual independent audit.
Assist as needed with preparation of campaign reminder statements, Form W-2s, Form 1099s, and Form 1042s.
Prepare end-of-year contribution tax receipts.
IT:
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of financial and current CRM software.
Other:
Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor.
RequiredEducation:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. Advanced studies or documented work experience is a plus.
RequiredWork Experience:
2-3 years of experience providing accounting and financial services.
Key Skills andQualifications:
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office. Experience with Blackbaud’s Financial Edge and Microsoft Dynamics (or other non-profit software) is preferred but not required.
Experience with accounts payable and receivable, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports.
Process-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Self-motivated with ability to prioritize duties and meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact professionally with employees, Board members and community members, always with the goal of ensuring the best representation of the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte.
Ability to handle confidential financial and personal information with discretion and sensitivity.
Other Job-Related Requirements:Flexibility to work evenings and Sundays if needed.
This position must be based in the greater Charlotte area.
